We are happy to share that our collaborative manuscript “Changes in the structure of mitochondrial processing peptidase driven by adaptation to anaerobiosis” has been published in the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules. The study reveals how the hydrogenosomal processing peptidase from Trichomonas vaginalis structurally adapted to process targeting sequences under anaerobic conditions. Our laboratory contributed substantially to the project through structural biology, protein biochemistry, and enzymatic analyses, helping to uncover how changes in the enzyme’s architecture support its specialized function.
