In collaboration with Mahboobi group (University of Regensburg, Germany) we modified Marbostat-100, an HDAC6 selective inhibitor, to significantly improve its hydrolytic stability and thus pharmacokinetic properties. Additionally, a crystal structure of the HDAC6/inhibitor complex provided mechanistic explanation for the high potency and stereoselectivity of the compound.
